List disection from Cancon

After thinking about the tournament and how my list performed, I decided to put my thoughts down on pseudo paper.
Do not get me wrong, placing 15th is a great result and I am very very happy with it. But each and every games was a close fought slugging match. I had to use every ounce of my skill as a general to get the wins, and in one case the dice decided the win, not my skill.

So I am going to discuss my list design and thoughts and reasons why I decided to take what I did.

Here is my list again for reference.

Brigade Detachment:  Craftworld Trait – Alaitoc
-HQ-
Bahaleth - Autarch with Swooping Hawk Wings
Shuriken pistol, banshee mask, power sword, force Shield
Shimmerplume of Achillrial  Puritanical Leader

Singing spear,shuriken pistol

Farseer
Witch Blade, shuriken pistol, Shiftshroud of Alanssair

Warlock
Shuriken pistol, witchblade

-TROOPS-
3 units of 5 Rangers
ranger long rifle and shuriken pistol

10 Dire Avengers including exarch
9 x shuriken catapults, plasma grenades, shimmer shield, power glaive.

2 units of 5 Dire Avengers including exarch
shuriken catapults, plasma grenades

-ELITE-
3 units of 5 Striking Scorpions including exarch
Mandiblasters, shuriken pistol, plasma grenades, Scorpion chainsword, Biting Blade

-FAST ATTACK-
5 Warp Spiders including exarch
Death spinner, twin deathspinner and powerblades

2 units of 5 Swooping Hawks including exarch
Lasblasters and Hawk talon

-HEAVY SUPPORT-
2 units of 10 Dark Reapers including exarch
Reaper launcher

Warwalker Squadron
1 x Warwalker with 2 x Starcannons

Supreme Command Detachment  Craftworld Trait – Alaitoc
-HQ-
3 Spirit Seers
shuriken pistol and witchstaff

Okay so first, the craftworld book has a lot a great stratagems that enhance the Eldar army on the battlefield, to make the best use of these, I first built my army for command points.

Decision 1. Maximise command Points.

I decided that to play how I wanted to play I needed between 12-13 cp. So a Brigade detachment for required.

This locked me into having 3 hq, 6 troops, 3 elites, 3 fast attack and 3 heavy support choices.

I also wanted to have the majority of the runes of battle powers available so that meant I needed a supreme command detachment.

So now I needed to have 6 hq, 6 troops, 3 elites, 3 fast attack and 3 heavy support choices to make my army legal.

So all this would give me 13cp to play with during deployment and the battle rounds.

So far so good.
On to my Choices to fill the slots.

Troops
Rangers
I decided to fill my troop requirements with three units of rangers for deep strike push back and character sniping ability.

Dire Avengers
The Dire Avengers were to form my main battle line with the main unit of 10 acting as the anchor for my line. the two smaller units of five were to be harassers and objective grabbers.

Elites

Striking scoprions
I filled these slots with three units of 5 striking scorpions all equipped the same, these units with their built in deep strike allowed me to make my opponent think about their deployment and deep strike protection.

Fast Attack
Swooping Hawks
Two units of swooping hawks were my dedicated anti horde option, with each squad putting out 20 shots, they would bring a volume of fire to my list that was needed. The also deployed on the table in my games, to allow for turn 2+ bouncing around shenanigans.

Warp spiders
I included one unit of these because of their strength 6 weapons, and I purchased the exarchs power blades, simply due to wysiwyg rule, I did not fancy cutting them off my metal model. I would have like more of these but I only own 5 models.

Heavy Support
2 units of 10 dark reapers, these guys were the ranged power to my list and did the majority of the heavy lifting each game.

A unit of 1 Warwalker with Starcannons, Originally there were two in this army , but i needed to drop one to upgrade my large unit of avengers from 5 to 10.

HQ
An Autarch
She was here to provide rerolls, immunity to moral due to puritanical leader warlord trait and reclaim some CP on a 6+. With a banshee mask, powersword and shuriken pistol, I found him to be under gunned. The shimmer plumed helped this somewhat.

2 farseers
The runes of fate are a great set of powers, during play testing, i felt i needed at least 4 of them in my army.

Warlock
He was included in my army to allow access to the stratagem seer council.

Spiritseers
These three were included to give my army another three runes of battle powers, and for ten points more than a warlock. They survive for longer and have a proper smite if I needed it.

So that were my thoughts going into Cancon.

My after Cancon thoughts on my army was that I gave myself tunnel vision chasing those 13CP.

In virtually every game, I was looking to my army for a third threat to inflict damage on my opponents.
Whilst I did set out to achieve my goal of winning six games, they were all apart for one game hard fought, but in all of them, I felt my army needed more teeth.
This is something that I will need to develop further.

So what would I change.

I could have reduced my reapers and large dire avenger squad to 9 man size, so as to deny my opponents the choice of the reaper secondary mission.

Speaking of my large unit of dire avengers, they cost 140pts. For the same cost I could have used 17 Guardian defenders and used the 1cp strat to give them 4++ save. Again, I blame tunnel vision for this.

Making these changes would have made reaper only worth 1 point instead of three.

Going first in a few games would have helped, but the dice decide.

I would equip my Autarch with a fusion gun or reaper launcher to make use of his 2+ to hit. This was where keeping him cheap and cheerful was not the right call.

Adding the needed bite to my list. This honestly is something, I have as yet not worked out how I want to approach it.

My Scorpions and Hawks had an effect each game, the most notable was in game two when a unit of five chewed their way through a eight strong warlock conclave.

My war walker provided some support in most games, but a single walker had minimal effect on the game, will have to rethink this, as it is a good harasser, but its output in most games was minimal.

I will try out different options for the future.

Anyway that is my thoughts
Cheers Lupus.

2017 in review

So 2017 has come and gone.
On a blogging front I have not been as prolific as I would have expected, but that is okay.
On the gaming front I have been active with the majority of my time devoted to Warhammer 40K.

Over this last year I have played a lot with my Marines and Recently with Craftworld Eldar. Since 8th edition has been released I have played over 50+ games. This does not sound a lot, but for myself that is massive, as the year before I played 0 games of any board top system.

On the hobby front I have painted 6 marines in the scheme of my Flame Wolves Chapter and 42 Eldar miniatures in that of Craftworld IL- KAITHE since 8th edition dropped, again the year before I had painted zero.

What does this mean? And why do I feel the need to blog about it?

The answer is that this sets my baseline for 2018, this is my goal to play more games than last year and have painted and completed more miniatures. That I intend to have both these armies completed in 2018 and that I will at the very least provided a monthly blog update to share my gaming adventures.

Finally, that I intend to attend a lot more tournaments this year, starting with Cancon, where i have entered into the 40K ITC championship. More on this in a later post.

How many command points for 2000 points, and their uses.

This is something, that I have struggled with since the inclusion of Command Points or Cp as we have started to call them. How many Cp to you include in a 2000 point army?

Of course, there is no hard and fast mandate that you need to include any Cp past the initial three you receive because you are battle forged. Your army could use only the patrol detachments and other detachments that do not issue Cp bonus's, that is entirely up the the individual and the Army they design and play. I intend to focus my rambles on my army of Flame Wolves for this article.

First I think that 6-7 Cp is about the most that I can squeeze into my army design process. Currently I seem to be taking a Battalion detachment (+3Cp), and either a Vanguard/Outrider/ Spearhead detachment (+1Cp) and occasionally a Auxiliary support detachment (-1Cp). These detachment choices for my Flame Wolves seem to be my optimal setup, I do not currently use any Lord of War choices or fortifications.

The next thought I am trying to think through is the uses of the Cp themselves. I always use a Cp to re-roll the seize roll so that I can go first, that reduces my allowance to 5-6 Cp, and the remainder I uses for critical re-rolls in game.

Is this the best use of my Cp?
To be honest I do not believe that it is. My play style, experiences and usage of Cp will become better  the more I play, with the new Space marine Stratagems and Chapter tactics from the Space Marine codex there are new better ways to meaningful spend the Cp's besides re-rolls.

With this in mind I think the Salamander chapter tactics suit my play style and the fluff of my marines the best.

Whilst this does not help vehicles at all, it will go some way to reduce my reliance on Cp re rolls.

Okay the next stage of reducing reliance on Cp uses for re-rolls, is of course including units that passively buff the army. Some of these are Captains, Lieutenants and others. I think that I will leave for thoughts on army design to another article, when I feel the urge to put my thoughts down.

Anyway I know this is a somewhat inconclusive end, so let me just finish with, If you design your army to maximise Cp generation, always address what you seem to use your Cp for and see if there is a better way to gain that ability.

The Flame Wolves are going to Cancon 2018

Well it has happened, my lovely wife has agreed to send me away for the weekend in January to play with my lead and plastic marines at that Gaming paradise of Cancon.

An fine gent that I played last time at Cancon, I have forgotten his name but the good memories of that game remain.

The above picture gives an indication of how many gamer's of different ilk go to this event. So what does this decision mean for me?

Well honestly, this means that my next five months of free time will be used either playing 40 K or painting my 40 K army. And by painting, I mean to a standard that I shall not be ashamed to play with it.

This is not a bad thing, as all the armies that I have painted in the past have all been to play in a tournament. I need this push, as I have been struggling to put brush to miniature for some time now.

With this in mind, I will be setting myself monthly painting targets, and will need to ensure I complete them in order to have my force battle ready.

But painting is not the only requirement that I will need to ensure I complete. I will need to enter some events prior to Jan next year to ensure that my gaming standards and skills are up to snuff.

To add another dimension to it, all of this must be accomplished on a Uni students budget both in Time and Money.

Regardless of my intentions however, I know I will be doing more hobby in December whilst on Uni holidays, then I will in any of the months preceding it.

Army Update- The Changer of Ways

Whilst it is on my list to eventually make a thousands sons force. I mean who among us, doesn't want to own every army they can.
First things first, I need and want to finish my Flame wolves.

Here is a current picture of my forces, be warned these are not excellently painted figures, this post is first and foremost intended to remind myself that I need to actually paint my army, and in some cases, strip and repaint it.
The Shame begins.

Random paring of DT and Troops.

Random characters

Apothecary yet again, stamping his foot for paint.

Bikes awaiting hellish amounts of love.

Centurions awaiting magnets

2 random bolter guys, just chilling.

This is what happens when you run out of undercoat.
It helps my process to put these pictures up. It is always great to see how far my army has advanced in such a short time. Still I will be putting in a big push over the next few months to get these and more ready for Cancon 2018.

Another two games under my belt, and another two losses.

I had an opportunity today to play another couple of 1500 point games today, this time against Leigh.

I did enjoy today's two games, they were very good games, with laughs and luck on both sides.

My list I fielded for both games was as follows

Battalion of Dorn's Wolves

HQ
Brother Captain Firelupus
Master crafted boltgun, power sword

Librarian
Force axe bolt pistol

Elite
Apothecary

Company Champion

Dreadnought, 2 x twin linked auto-cannons.

9 Vanguard Veterans with jump packs
Sergeant- Thunder hammer storm shield
2 vets- twin lightning claws
3 vets - chain swords and bolt pistols
1 vet - storm shield and plasma pistol
1 vet - power sword and storm shield
1 vet power axe and storm shield.

5 Stern guard
with special issue boltguns.

Troops
9 scouts
sergeant- chain sword boltpistol
4 scouts - combat blade and bolt pistol
4 scouts- shotgun

5 Scouts
sergeant- chain sword boltpistol
3 scouts - boltgun and bolt pistol
1 scout - Heavy Bolter

5 Tactical Marines
sergeant- chain sword boltpistol
3 marines - boltgun and bolt pistol
1 marine - Heavy Bolter

Fast Attack
5 assault marines with jump packs
sergeant- power sword boltpistol
3 marines - chainsword and bolt pistol
1 marine - flamer.

Heavy Support
Disco Predator
Twin lascannon and two lascannons.

5 Devastator marines
sergeant- chain sword bolter
4 marines - missile launchers
1 cherub. - nil

Game 1. Questor Traitoris
Mission : Eternal War Secure and Control.
Deployment: Dawn of War.
Detachments: Super heavy detachment
List: 3 Renegade knights with a mixture of weapons.
Three of these bad bad boys.
The game was quick, I learned a lot in this game and I even managed to almost destroy one of these fellas in close combat with my Vanguard Veterans.

Game 2. Typhus and his Death Guard
Mission : Eternal War Secure and Control.
Deployment: Dawn of War.
Detachments: Battalion and Super heavy auxiliary detachment
List:
Typhus
The man, the myth, the host of the destroyer hive.

Plague caster
7 plague marines with 2 blight launchers
20 pox walkers
20 pox walkers
2 Foetid Bloat drones
1 Renegade knight

In this game , my vanguard veterans forgot to bring the batteries for their power weapons, with not scoring a single wound, and only 3 attacks actually hitting the death guard squad in close combat.

I very nearly took down the Renegade Knight and these two games both showed gaps in my list.
My rifleman dread, disco predator and devastators all scored multiple hits on the Knight, but was unable to bring it down, before it did what it does and smeared the units.

List Improvements

No, I am not going to run Ultramarines chapter, but will instead start putting together my centurions to bring their firepower to the table.

I am going to retire the members of the 8th and 10th company's from my list for a while, instead I will replace them with bikers and tactical squads from the 6th company instead and see how the list develops. I have not played enough games , against enough opponents to make any definite decisions about anything.
What I do know is I need more manoeuvre elements to my army, it is too static for my liking.

Anyway that is enough rambling from me.

Another outing, another learning experience.

Good news, I have another game under my belt for 40K, this time with 75 power worth of Dorn's Wolves.
The list I used was a Battalion Detachment

HQ
Librarian
Power axe, combi-plasma

Tech marine
power axe, plasma pistol.

Elite
Dreadnought
2 x twin autocannons

Dreadnought
2 x twin autocannons

Apothecary

2 honour guard
Relic blades

Troops
10 Scouts
sarg- plasma pistol, pistol
4 with shotguns
5 with combat blades and bolt pistols.

5 tactical marines
sarg- combi plasma, power sword
3 with bolters
1 with heavy bolter

5 tactical marines
sarg- combi plasma, power sword
3 with bolters
1 with missile launchers

Fast Attack
5 Assault marines with jump packs
Sarg- plasma pistol, power sword, combat shield
3 with chainswords, bolt pistols
1 with flamer

Heavy Support
5 Devastator marines
Sarg - combi plasma and cherub
4 with missile launchers

Stalker
2 x Icarus autocannons, hunterkiller missile, storm bolter

Whirlwind
Castellan launcher, hunterkiller missile, storm bolter

So in this list, I was trying to go against the conventional wisdom, that you cannot out shoot the Tau. But with these types of lessons, I like to learn them myself. In a game of Empire V(28mm Napoleonic wars), I once charged a battalion of 16 Prussian conscripts into the teeth of a battery of six French 12 pounders, to see why it was bad. Here is a hint it was bad.

Marks List.
HQ
Shadow sun with drones
Ethereal with drones
Fireblade with drones

Elite
6 stealth team suits with drones and advanced targeting system
6 stealth team suits with drones and advanced targeting system
1 Ghostkeel with fusion collider , multitracker, shield generator

Troops
12 man strike team with mp turret drone
12 man strike team with mp turret drone
12 man strike team with mp turret drone

Fast Attack
5 path finders
3 with rail rifles
2 with markerlight, pulse carbine

5 path finders

3 with rail rifles
2 with markerlight, pulse carbine

Mission: Big Guns Never Tire
Set Up: Spearhead Assault

Mark stole the Initiative and proceeded to slaughter my scout squad that was set up for a first turn charge against a strike team and a fire blade that was close to it.
I downed the ghost keel in my first turn, mainly in part due to Smite inflicting 5 mortal wounds.

In the end I called it on turn five with my techmarine, stalker and whirlwind was all that was left.

Victory points
Mark- 8vp (3 objectives, linebreaker and first blood)
Me- 0 vp

What have I learned.

  1. Do not forget to fire my pistols when the enemy is one inch away.
  2. Smite is a nice power, mortal wounds are good, when they work.
  3. Against a fire power army like the Tau, 5 man marine squads do not last long.
  4. Tau drones purchased with a character, after deployment count as separate units, which can be targeted and charged separately.
  5. You cannot out shoot the TAU.
  6. The Tech marine healed my dreads and tank well this game, but in a game with lots of movement, then perhaps i would mount him on a bike.
  7. For 2 power honour guard are cheap, but by themselves they do not last long at all.
  8. Remember what equipment your models have.
  9. 75 power is fun, but a tad to large for a quick game during the night for me at the moment.
Having established that marines cannot out shoot the Tau, it is time to start putting more speed and assault elements into my lists. That is enough of a ramble for now, time to start working on a new 50 power list.

Death Guard Legion, Foul Warhost of Lord Archinads

Not much going on in my world at the moment, I am on break from Uni for a month. So I figure why not try to play catch up.

Catch up?  You say.

Why yes, I intend on this break to paint a test model of my death guard. Not to mention, the rooms my lovely wife has me painting in our house.

Let us talk Death Guard now.

Introducing the Foul war-host of Lord Archinads, servant of Nurgle, son of Mortarion and child of Barbarus.

Papa Nurgle demands

I mentioned in an earlier post, that I have two sets from the Dark Imperium starter box to make my death guard, which gives a fairly good start to what i expect to be a 2000 point army when completed.

The two sets combined provide the following miniatures
2 Lords of contagion
2 Malignant plague casters
2 Noxious blight bringers
14 plague marines
40 pox walkers
2 Foetid bloat drones.

I added to this when I went through my bits box and found.
2 spawns that I intend to kit bash out of parts I have lying around.
1 Land raider, that I have not managed to assembled in 5 years or more.

So there it is, I have the start of a nice army, that I intend to add different units as required to make the final 2000 points up.

Maybe a Defiler and a Hellbrute or two. It will depend on what the army needs, and what I like the look of.
Always wanted one of these.

This looks nice

One final comment before I finish, I was asked if I would buy Mortarion, the other day, if GW release a model for him? The answer is YES! HELL YES!

Yes please.

Any way, I have some other miniatures to work on in the mean time.

40k Pre-order lodged.

Ahh June 3rd. The date to lodge your pre-order for 8th edition 40k.

And I have lodged mine.

I went into my local games store today with an iron clad plan in mind for my prechases (Purchases).

As the saying goes. " No plan survives contact with the enemy". In my case today it was no shopping list survived contact with fresh out of the box plastics.

Going into the day I had a firm plan on getting the new rule book and the  Index: Imperium 1

Which I did after a fashion. my rule book is wrapped up in this .
And then I decided to get these as well.

So after a bit of horse trading with a fellow gamer who is starting a Primaris marine army, I will have the start of a Nurgle marine army from the XIV Legion the Death Guard, in 2 weeks time.

Back in the deep dark depths of my teenage years, I built a Death-guard army out of these guys.

After taking one look at the new figures in person, even though they are snap fit, I have fallen to the foul stench of Farther Nurgle once more. That is my age, back in my day he was just papa Nurgle.

My marines of Dorn's Wolves will be beset by a war host of Nurgle.

Cheers

Whats new at the Zoo

Well it has been a while since I posted here, so what is new?

Well I have started attending uni and so no longer work. woot poor ftw.

After finishing my first semester I am starting to think about what if anything I will be playing with my soon to be free time, once house work, gardening and parenting allows it of course.

An low 9th Age is released and already i am more interested in it, then any other game in the last year since the demise of Warhammer fantasy.

So i am currently looking at making an Undead lists, Vamps probably. stay tuned.

Battletech Kickstarter

Hello all,

The rumors of my demise are sadly over rated.

I thought i would add my voice to the chorus and share the new Battle Tech pc game on Kickstarter.
I have already pledged my funding with this game universe and The Free Worlds League( House Orloff) in particular being my favorite.

See below link
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/webeharebrained/battletech

This news may actually kick start (pardon the pun) my blog and indeed my hobby juices.

Ramble finished.

My Blog's Future content.

I am not sure what the community will do in regards to Warhammer 8th edition and Age of Sigmar, but for my part I plan on continue working on my 8th edition Vampire counts and Wood elves army's both the figures and the fluff, i have around 30 ish draft posts that i have been working on and i still intend to finish them off.

Warhamer Fantasy has been part of my gaming life for 25 years and I am not willing to give it up yet, whilst Age of Sigmar could be a good beer and chips game, I prefer my fantasy armies to have big formed up battalions and Magic, if in the future a different game peaks my interest it may well  fill the void of Warhammer Fantasy, only time will tell of course.

So hopefully i will have content of interest in the coming months, stay tuned.

Added a few new Pages

I have been meaning to add a few pages to my blog for a couple of months nowm but i just kept putting it off for one reason or another, but with the Destruction of 8th edition warhammer , and the arrival of Age of Sigmar i decided that i should fly my nerd colours at last and add the pages for my Wood elves, Vampire and Dwarf armies to show that I am not pulling the pin on the Old world even if GW has.

The Old world has been a part of my life longer then my Wife and it will continue to be part of it for many years to come.

I have also decided to give Age of Sigmar a page, the reasons i will discuss in another post, but for now let me just say.

Victory lies with the Big Battalions.

Vampire counts , Cause who doesn't like a blood suckers army for Ninth Edition Warhammer

Hi everyone,
Well the decision is made, I will wait no more for Warhammer Ninth edition to be released ,I feel that the Vampire counts will be a safe bet to put my hobby time into, regardless of the rumors of changes to the warhammer fluff, I just can not see GW dropping the Vampire army in some format, so with this assumption in mind i have started the re-image work on my vampire counts 6th edition army, with the intention to turn it into a ninth edition army that will be the best i have created to date.

So how does this rash statement of intent turn itself into the reality of an army that is tournament ready?
The bare truth is to be honest i don't know, what the finished product shall look like, but the first thing i need is a theme. These are what I have thought of to date.

The options i am considering without knowing any Ninth edition fluff is as follows

  • An army of flesh golems- this is barely a concept at the moment.
  • An Army of Zombies in all shapes and sizes- so zombies would be depicted in every unit using different models for corpse cart, varghiests and Crypt horrors etc.
  • An army raised from the defeated remains of the empire province of Solland- so this would be based in 8th edition fluff and could be the remains of the empire raised to serve.
  • Regardless of my overall theme my army will have Necrach Vampire figures, even if they will be called something else in ninth edition.

So that is the idea's i have for the moment, with this in mind, the first step will be getting all my vampire stuff out, and putting away my wood elves and dwarfs and seeing what bits and bobs i have to work with, whilst the round versus square bases rumors continue i will be a man and blue tack any new units to their bases to hedge my bets.

Anyway that is enough out of me.

1000 point warhamer

In an effort to kick start my hobby malaise a few mates and I are going to be playing some 1000 point warhammer battles, my hope is that it will reinvigorate my interest.

So here are my thoughts using the following restrictions

1000 point army's
No Lord choices.
0-250 on hero's
250 + on core
0-500 on special
0-250 on rare

Max three magic levels(inc sisters of thorn and  warlocks)
Max 2 warmachines (inc steam teanks, gyrobombers)
Max 1 each type of rare
Max 2 of each special type

The goal is not to have hero hammer or he with the most warmachines wins, but to use these small battles to have fun.

Anyway that is all from me.

Army Transport options

Well it time to finally open the wallet ,even though I am not currently in the 'hobby zone', I have started thinking about how I can improve the transport of my armies.

For Cancon I used some old foam trays that were lying around and a plastic $2 shop carry tub, this system worked okay for what it was, but i intend to attend more tournaments this year, an this current set up is not suitable for driving as i kept expecting it to flip over and as i intend to fly with the army i really need to up my game.

These are my concerns-
  • When flying do you put your army in checked luggage or can you take it as carry on?
  • What sort of case/bag is best?
  • It is the overwhelming choice of different companies that is concerning me, not the lack of it.
  • At this stage I have had no experience with anything except an Old GW case that i gave away years ago, and my current set up.
My future transport option needs to be able to carry my wood elves safely without being a major pain lugging it about.

I am hoping that the community will be able to offer some sage advice.

Awaiting 9th Ed

I would be lying if i said i was motivated in my fantasy hobby at the moment, i just can't seem to put brush to model, the what if's about 9th edition . Now don't get me wrong, i like the fluff of the warhammer world, but the new fluff rumors does not faze me.

The gaming side of it does interest me, and it is because of that my hobby has ground to a halt, i have plans and idea's for my armies, but until i see the shape of 9th edition i am loathe to actually waste my time.

So what am i spending my time on at the moment then, i am catching up on some overdue reading .

Stay tuned.

2015- My Hobby Goals for the Breathless Host

Hi All,

These are my Hobby goals for 2015, and I plan to use this post as a reference for review in December to see if i have been shameful in my hobby or if I have met and perhaps even exceeded my goals for the year.

If i manage to complete everything below and more then i shall reward myself with what i havent a clue, but i am sure to think of something. Only time will tell, but hang on to you hats here comes the good intentions.

Painting
Vampires
Bring my army up to 2500 points
Repaint my 100 skeletons to refresh the scheme.
Paint my 40 Zombies
Paint what ever else is required for the 2500 points.

Wood elves
Finish painting
6 Waywatchers
20 Wildwood rangers
15 Wardancers
1 Shadow Dancer
12 Wild riders
6 Sisters of the thorn

Dwarfs
Start painting and collecting my new Throng up to 1000 points.
No idea what this will entail, but i will leave this target at 1000 points.

Tournaments
Attend three this year which i hope will be
Cancon- It is on and then some booked in and ready to go.
Rumble in the Bronx- Hoping to get into this awesome event.
Third to be decided- see what comes up through the year.

I may also try my hand again this year at Dueling gamer's if it also occurs.

Well that is my goals set, lets see how they play out.

Third army update : The Winner is Drum roll please

And the Winner is THE DWARFS, hardy wee folk with beards and grudges what could be finer?

A Throng of hardy wee folk, so the GREAT ONE surprised me today with not one new model but three boxes of models.

And it begins the start of my Third army.
I do tend to get spoiled on occasion and this is one of those occasions.
So my Throng starts off with
16 warriors
10 Hammers/Long beards
1 Cannon / Organ gun

I will look at interest at the Dwarf Armies at Axemaster this year and see other peoples view on this race and what they like to run. The only dwarf knowledge i have are of their Dark cousins the Chaos Dwarfs so i have an immense amount of reading to undertake.
In any event this army will be a slow building process as I plan for it to be my army to play for 2016-2017.

Why so long you ask, well I want this army to be the most challenging conversion and painting wise, that i have undertaken to date.

Anyway that is it for me, back to the family or perhaps off to My new home.

Cheers

Third army update : Arrrrrggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

The Great one is prolonging my agony and is not letting slip anymore hints or clues, I will give her credit in this, she knows how to torment me.

I have been informed that I will find out midday Sunday and not a second before, so hang onto your hats in one way shape or form i will have an army with artillery and Sunday we will all know which army it will be.

Cheers
